Offline License Activation

Request your GhostVault license.

GhostVault uses an offline license-file activation process so the software can remain private, local-first, and free from an always-online account requirement.

After purchase, install GhostVault, generate a license request file from inside the application, and email that file for manual review. Your signed license file will be returned by email.

How the license process works

GhostVault activation is intentionally built around an offline request-and-license file workflow. The application does not require a cloud inventory account.

1. Purchase GhostVault Buy the Core Digital Download or Core License through GetGhostVault.com.
2. Install GhostVault Open GhostVault on your Windows computer and go to the License / Activation screen.
3. Generate Request Create the GhostVault license request file from inside the application.
4. Email Request Email the request file to licenses@getghostvault.com using the same email address used for purchase. Include your order number if available.
5. Receive License Your request will be manually reviewed and a signed license file will be returned by email.
6. Import License Import the returned license file inside GhostVault to activate GhostVault Core.
Early launch note: License files are manually reviewed, generated, and returned by email. Delivery may take up to a few business days during early launch.

The request file helps generate a license that matches your GhostVault installation and purchased edition.

What it should not contain

The license request file is not intended to include your private GhostVault inventory records, photos, documents, or encrypted vault data.

  • No firearm inventory records
  • No ammunition or magazine records
  • No private photos or attached documents
  • No GhostVault inventory database upload
  • No cloud inventory account required

Before sending your request

A few details help us match the license request to the correct purchase and return the license file as smoothly as possible.

Use the purchase email The license request should be sent from the same email address used during checkout. This helps us match your request to your WooCommerce order.
Include your order number Add your WooCommerce order number if you have it available.
Attach the request file Attach the license request file generated from inside GhostVault.
Do not send inventory data Do not email your GhostVault database, backups, private records, photos, or documents unless support specifically requests something.
Watch for the reply Your signed license file will be returned by email after review.
Import inside GhostVault Use the License / Activation screen to import the returned license file.

License recovery is intended for the original purchaser. Contact support with your purchase email, order number if available, and a short explanation of the issue.

Transfer

Moving to a new computer

If you are moving GhostVault to a new computer, install GhostVault on the new computer, generate a new request file, and submit it for transfer review.
